LeaseJapan write up in the Japan Times Newspaper

Hi,

LeaseJapan's Tokyo Sales Manager, Colin Shea was recently interviewed by The Japan Times.

We opened our Tokyo Office officially on the 1st October, 2007 and welcomed to our growing team, Mr. Colin Shea. Colin has been in the car business both at home in England and in Japan for a very long time.

Have a look at this artcle if you can.

It has been a good week for LeaseJapan with the Tokyo Sales Manger appearing in the Japan Times and the Nagoya Sales Manager appearing in a Denso Video at the Tokyo Motor Show.

By for now,

Tokyo Motor Show 2007

Hi,

I recently completed a long long dream of mine to go to the Tokyo Motor Show. The 2007 Tokyo Motor show is on at Makuhare Messe from 27th October to 11th November, 2007. It really was an amazing show and there were people everywhere.

The first thing I did was go to the Car Navigation System area to check out the new GPS Navi's. I was also looking to see if there were any new English Navi systems for Japan. LeaseJapan (http://www.leasejapan.com/) has now started selling a new Portable GPS Navigation System that is in English/Chinese/Japanese. These are great as you can use them in the car, just like a normal Navi, or you can use them while walking around. Any way I did not find any of these on display (I think it may be because they have just only come out and are not that well known yet) and the only English Navi's I found were ones made for use in Europe or the US. One company did tell me they had developed English Map software for Japan, but no Japanese Navi makers had yet shown any interest in buying it for their devices.

I did not understand why Xanavi would have a display there showing their Navi's, but not show their English Navi. For a long time the In-dash or On-dash Xanavi (which LeaseJapan sells and installs in a lot of clients cars) has been the only Navi in Japan to offer English. However the maps are still in Japanese and you can not look up an address in English as it is all in Kanji.

The new Portable Navi's that LeaseJapan is selling now not only have English menus and voice, but the maps are all in English (or Chinese or Japanese) and you can look up an address in English.

Any way I digress. Back to the Motor Show. It was great to see all the Super Cars like Lamborghini, Porsche, Ferrari, Audi etc. and good to see some of the Japanese Makers putting out some sports cars. Nissan of course had its new "Nissan GT-R" (No longer using the Skyline name for the GT-R) and Lexus has its new LF-A which looks totally awsome and amazing.

But the car that makes it for me is the Porsche 911 GT-2. Finally Porsche has gone back to what a Porsche should be and what a Porsche should look like. I only wish I could drive it.

Another amazing car is the Audi R8. This car is really helping Audi change its image from "the old mans car" to a brand for all ages and all driving styles.

But the best display at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show is by far the Denso Display. In particular the large TV Display showing off Denso's new car technology. If you get a chance to see the Show, go to the Denso display and watch the short video and take special note of who is driving the car! Yes, I have had my 15seconds of fame and it was Damn Good! Although I was a little dissapointed that despite me standing there going "Its me its me!", not one person around us noticed!!!!

Any way, thats it for now. I hope you get a chance to see the Tokyo Motor show before it ends, but if not and you live near Nagoya, it should be coming to Nagoya soon. You may even meet me there. I will be the one standing infront of the Denso TV Display all day!!

See ya all later,

Cars....

Owning a car in Japan can be a taxing job, owing to the arcane rules regarding vehicle ownership and registration...
